"Water Cherub" by Mary Cassatt

Having just caught a large pink water cherub, the lucky couple frantically paddles back to the dock where they will claim their prize for what is sure to be the record catch for the day. The woman clutches the water cherub tightly to prevent it from squirming loose and flopping back into the water where it would surely escape into the depths.

Water Cherubs are usually not this large and are rarely so impeccably dressed. If this Water Cherub were to escape then it would most surely never be caught again, as they are incredibly intelligent beasts and learn quickly from past experience.

Determining the age of these beguiling creatures can be difficult as they retain their youthful appearance well into old age.
